April Fools?

Happy April! Right now we could all use some extra fun, so let’s play a little April Fools’ Day game :)

I am going to share with you some interesting nutrition facts that might surprise you - but I’ve included one that is NOT true. See if you can figure out which one is the “April Fool”.

  1. A 20 oz. bottle of Coca Cola contains 16 packets of sugar... more than a large Cinnabon!

  2. 2 Tablespoons of regular soy sauce contains more sodium than you should have in a whole day.

  3. All milk - whole, 2%, 1%, and 0%/skim all contain the same amount of protein.

  4. An avocado has more than twice as much potassium as a banana.

  5. Carbohydrates are a major source of fiber, which can help you lose weight by keeping you full and energized.

  6. Broccoli, parsley, brussel sprouts and red bell peppers all contain more vitamin C per serving than oranges.

  7. A 15.2 oz. bottle of Minute Maid 100% Apple Juice contains the same amount of sugar in 10 Oreos.

  8. Peeling an apple will remove 50% of its total fiber and around 30% of its vitamin C.

  9. Carbohydrates are found in fruits and whole grains but NOT in vegetables.

  10. White potatoes have more potassium than a sweet potato.
